Nancy Thurston

Director/Principal

God has blessed me with incredible teachers, wonderful parents, and delightful students. Our school strives to partner with parents to provide an excellent education, as well as a caring learning environment. It is my belief that education without a Christian emphasis is incomplete — therefore, our curriculum helps to teach students to become strong in their faith and to desire to honor God in their lives. Through the last 28 years, it has been a joy to lead this school. God is truly the center of all that we are. I praise God for the privilege of serving Him through working with children.

Patty Calhoun

Office Manager

God has blessed me with the most incredible job! I am able to get to know the children on a personal level, which is very rewarding. I love to be able to make each child feel loved, and I take their needs very seriously. I also work with the parents and enjoy serving them. It is a joy to coordinate all areas of the school so that everything flows smoothly. Each day is unique, and God's Fingerprints and Hope Christian Academy is the BEST!

Teachers

All of our wonderful teaching staff are Christians, and each staff member meets the requirements of the Colorado State Department of Human Services and is well-qualified to serve as a part of our teaching team. You can be assured your child will receive an exceptional education from among the best and brightest Christian teachers in Colorado.

Kindergarten

I am so excited to be teaching kindergarten at Hope Christian Academy! God’s presence and love is felt as soon as you walk through the doors of this excellent Christian school community. It is a blessing to touch the lives of children and help them grow in the knowledge and love of God. I have always loved kindergarten because it is a time of new beginnings, new friends, and new skills each and every day. I am honored to be a part of the precious children’s learning journey and pray that they discover something new every day whether it is with their heads, hands or hearts.

First Grade

What I enjoy most about 1st graders is watching them progress throughout the school year! When they come to school in the fall, they don't know how to write a sentence. By the end of the year, they are writing stories. I enjoy watching them develop into super readers. I love to see their confidence and enthusiasm for learning. I love working at Hope because it is such a loving environment for the children, and we focus on watching each child grow in Christ.

Fourth Grade

I am blessed to work at Hope Christian Academy in this wonderful Christian environment. I love working with 4th grade students and the many joyous moments they bring. Being able to teach them about God and how to grow in God's love is a precious gift. I love to watch them learn and see them blossom into budding students.

Fifth Grade

I spent 14 years in teaching and administrative roles in Christian education prior to starting a family. Then, I discovered this school for my daughter; it perfectly aligned with my family’s goals. When it was time to return to teaching, my heart’s desire was to teach at Hope Christian Academy. I am thrilled to be the fifth grade teacher at HCA. Integrating Scripture into daily lessons and making discoveries alongside the children is exhilarating for me. All this and more makes my “work” simply too much “fun”!
